Dry Ice Spooky Cocktails, 3 Ways!

Welcome to spooky season, ghouls and goblins! It’s my favorite creative time of the year and I’m so excited to get this party started. Cheers to the change in weather (still to be seen here in Florida)! I have three absolutely delicious and spooktacular cocktail concoctions for your next gathering. Please drink responsibly and have an understanding of how to handle dry ice before you attempt these drinks. Once the dry ice has done its thing and the initial presentation is over, they are drinkable!

The Undertaker

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 2 basil leaves (+1 for garnish)
  • 1/2 lime
  • 6 blackberries (+2 for garnish)
  • 2 oz bourbon whiskey
  • 2 oz club soda
  • ice

Directions:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the sugar, 2 basil leaves, lime, blackberries, and bourbon. Use a muddler to mash and release the flavors of these ingredients.
  2. Fill the shaker halfway with ice and shake to combine.
  3. Strain over a glass with ice and top with club soda. Garnish with blackberries and a basil leaf on a toothpick.

Poison Appletini

Ingredients:

  • ice cubes
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 1/2 oz sour apple liqueur
  • 1 1/2 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • apple for garnish

Directions:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker  1/2 full with ice. Add the vodka, sour apple liqueur, and lemon juice.
  2. Give it a good shake and strain it into a martini glass.
  3. For the garnish, use a melon baller to cut the eyes into the apple. Use a sharp knife to cut lines where the teeth will be before removing every other tooth. Cut a line halfway up the core of the apple to make it easy to attach to the glass rim.
