Host A S’moresgasbord Party!
I have been wanting to use my new back deck for a few months and the weather is FINALLY starting to cool here in Florida so I thought this would be the perfect setting for our S’mores party! And a lovely night it was in the mid-70s! I started by setting up my deck fold away tables in a row and placing garland down the middle and all the way around the outside railing. I didn’t realize how inexpensive live garland is!
I have a ton of these white rocking chairs and I think they were the perfect match for a comfortable, casual seating look. I added pillows and warm knit blankets for an even cozier feel. These green and black plaid napkins, pewter chargers, and white enamel cups were such a cute combination! The perfect match for the evergreen runner. The backdrop for the desserts table was a really easy DIY. You can get rolls of this paper at the hardware store’s painting department. I typed out a Christmas Carol with my favorite font and sent the JPG to my phone which I then hooked up to my projector. It was really easy to trace the projection with a sharpie! Chocolate and S’mores topped cupcakes! These camping inspired cookies from my friend Angie at Pink Apron Confections are absolutely darling!! Everyone always loves her delicious and crazy creative cookie art!! I found some snowflake and frosty shaped marshmallows at World Market but the Frostys didn’t fit into the mugs. So I simply cut extra large marshmallows in half and drew frostys on them with edible markers for the perfect sizing. My kiddo LOVED this activity and helped me make a whole bunch!I love s’mores and there are so many ways to do them other than just the usual graham cracker and Hersheys chocolate combination. We added all sorts of delicious elements including cookies, caramel, peanut butter cups, and berries! Yum!
Adding a grazing board I lovingly called the “S’moresgasbord”, it was easy to pass around the table and share the fixings…
Such a lovely night!! I was stuffed!
