My husband turned 40 this year and I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I struggle coming up with party ideas for my comic book loving boys!  Let’s be honest, themed boy parties aren’t always the most inspiring to style.  But with these tips, you can throw a themed party that’s still elegant and pretty!

1.  Go Modern – These deep rimmed plates and black matte flatware set the scene for a higher end, modern tablescape.  Always ditch the paper and plastics and go with the nice stuff to elevate your table decor.

 2.  Add Florals – You don’t have to go all out with pretty peonies and roses but instead, choose one color and arrange a mixture of cool texture stems like these green pom pom balls.  This will soften the overall look without going too feminine. 3. Keep it Simple! – Choose a limited selection of themed decor to simplify and avoid over cluttering the scene.  I chose face masks, quote tags, and handmade custom cookies from Pink Apron Confections!  Don’t want to make a cake full of colorful fondant characters?  Opt for a pie and personalize it with letter cutters!  You can add so much to a theme with play-on-words instead of themed decor.  Easy and free!  And don’t forget your ambiance!  If you are styling to a movie theme, grab the soundtrack!
