The Elf Candy Shop!
How to Turn Your Home Office into a Candy Shop & Gingerbread Making Party Set!

Want to surprise your littles with something super extra this holiday season?  Check out this home office to candy shop transformation and get inspired to create a party set too!  I created this whole candy shop scene as the backdrop for our gingerbread decorating space.  It worked out perfectly!  My little guy loved “shopping” for his candies, “checking out”, and then decorating his premade house with his purchases.

My wonderful and talented cookie decorating friend, Angie of Pink Apron Confections made all the cookies for this party.  Aren’t they gorgeous!?  I loved this idea of creating a cake with her pretty cookies and the colors fit perfectly with my pink candy shop theme!  Inspired by my own nail art, I made these strawberry cupcakes to match!  After he checked out with his selection of candy, I changed the table to the decorating stations using deep rimmed plates to hold all the candy and gingerbread houses.  This was the best idea ever!  The deep rim on the plates really contained the mess! An assortment of my favorite house decorating candies from bubble gum tape to Necco wafers, white lifesavers, and gumdrops were spilled onto the plates, ready to be added to the houses.   Strawberry milk was just the right pairing for this kid-centric cookie party… And jingle jams are a must!!  We had a ton of fun together and ate way too many gingerbread cookies! Here is one of our finished creations!  Aren’t the Necco wafers the perfect pastel shingle choice!? And the finisher… delicious hot cocoa with little mini gingerbread house mug huggers!  These were a great DIY hack using graham crackers.  Simply wrap a graham cracker in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30-40 seconds.  The grahams will cut with cookie cutters before they harden again!
