One Ingredient Keto Taco Shells!
One Ingredient Keto Taco Shells!
This is the easiest keto recipe ever! One ingredient to hold all your favorite flavors in one perfectly crisp and crunchy shell. The key to getting these perfect is in the cooking tool. This krumkake maker is the ticket to getting them super thin, light, and crisp. You can use any iron like a waffle iron, pizzelle, or waffle cone maker, but the krumkake iron will yield the thinnest shell. I have tried other types of cheeses and some were too strong a flavor, others wouldn’t crisp as well. So, I highly suggest Monterey Jack Cheese. Pile on the ingredients and flavors, add a strong sauce or sour cream, and you won’t be able to tell you’re missing a corn tortilla shell. Also, aren’t they so pretty with their krumkake design?
One Ingredient Keto Taco Shells!
Makes: 6 shells
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 Cups Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
Directions:
- Preheat the krumkake iron to the manufacturer’s suggested settings. If you are using the same iron, I like them at a darkness level 2.
- Add a scant 1/4 cup shredded cheese to the center of the iron. Close tight and cook for the full time suggested. The shell will be an evenly medium brown color when it’s finished.
- Using tongs, remove the shell. Carefully and quickly bend it into a taco shell shape with the tongs while it’s still hot. Hold in place until it hardens (10-20 seconds). Set aside and continue with the next shell.
- Fill the shells with your favorite seasoned meat/seafood, veggies, cheese, and sauce.
