Marzipan Recipe
Easy Marzipan
This recipe is what I use to create cute shapes, creatures, fruits, and vegetables for many of my gingerbread house designs and cupcake toppers. I love it because it’s so easy to handle, color, and play with. Bonus, it tastes wonderfully almond. If you love marzipan, give it a try, especially if you aren’t very fond of other sugary molding doughs like fondant, molding chocolate, or gum paste.
Marizpan Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond flour
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 2 tbsp water
Directions
- Combine the ingredients in a food processor just until a dough forms. You can add food coloring with the ingredients if you are doing just one color, or add colors after the dough is formed in divided sections.
- Roll the dough into a log and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for one hour.
- To shape, you can use the same techniques as playdough or fondant. If it gets sticky, use a little bit of cornstarch on the surface.
- Let your shapes dry for 24 hours at room temperature before moving them.
