Beer Cheese Recipe – Serves 6
Ingredients:
3 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
3 Tbsp All-Purpose Flour
1 Cup Whole Milk
1/2 Cup Lager
1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
1 Tbsp Worcestershire
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
1/8 Tsp Red Pepper
1/2 Tsp Salt
Freshly Ground Pepper to taste
3 1/2 Cups Freshly Grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Instructions:
In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour until well combined and then add the milk. Whisk the mixture until it thickens. Add Lager, Mustard, Worcestershire, Garlic Powder, Salt, and Pepper. Add Cheese one cup at a time until fully incorporated and melted. Serve immediately with soft pretzels. Or you can also reheat it slowly if you plan to make it ahead of time. If the cheese is too clumpy, add a little more milk over medium heat.
