Gingerbread Dinner Party Styling
Gingerbread Dinner Party Styling
This holiday season is all about gingerbread this year! It all started with a trip to Disney World to visit the gingerbread displays at the resorts. It’s so inspiring to see these life-size designs by professional bakers. I came home dreaming up big ideas and got to work! My home is currently decked with red and gold Christmas styling. So I used that as my backdrop and style inspiration for this dinner party. Solino Home sent me these pretty napkins for my table which fit perfectly with the design.
I made these gingerbread man name cards out of extra dough from my gingerbread house. I used a straw to make the hole for the ribbon and they turned out to be the perfect napkin ring.
My gingerbread creation for this year is the centerpiece of this party. A 3-piece set of town shops. I loved creating the details, especially the bakery items. If you want to try your hand at gingerbread design, check out my recipe and tips for gingerbread house-building dough and icing glue. I start by sketching out my ideas on paper and then I make my own paper templates for the pieces. I trace those onto the dough to create these 3D displays. It’s such a fun and rewarding holiday activity that you don’t want to miss so next time you’re about to buy that pre-made gingerbread house, give this dough a go instead. You might surprise yourself!
Who doesn’t love eggnog!? Have you tried gingerbread eggnog before? It’s delicious! Top that with a little mug hugger, so cute.
These tiny mug-hugger houses are so easy to make with this cookie cutter set. You can even use graham crackers for this tiny house if you don’t want to go through the trouble of baking. Also a wonderful activity for kids! Try microwaving a graham cracker in a damp paper towel for 30-40 seconds before cutting it quickly with a cookie cutter. When it cools, it re-hardens!
