Fall Inspired Friendsgiving
Fall Inspired Friendsgiving
Fall Inspired Friendsgiving tablescape ideas for alfresco dining. Living in Florida, fall feels can seem forced. But the weather has finally given us a break and there’s enough chill in the air for sweaters and cozy blankets! Just in time for an alfresco Friendsgiving feast.
This table design was inspired by my childhood in Northern Virginia. Around this time of year, all of the leaves are a gorgeous array of colors, a true sight to behold. My trees, here in Satellite Beach, aren’t deciduous so I had to call my florist for help sourcing this beautiful leafy garland. An easy DIY you can do yourself with autumn leaf branches from your own yard if you live in a fall-friendly place or from your florist if you live in the tropics like me 😉
My favorite find lately has to be these folding bistro chairs from IKEA. They are such a steal at just $15 each. You can invite as many friends as you like to your future backyard parties and not have to worry about breaking the bank with a rental company. They fold away flat and neatly fit in the corner of a closet. So much better than metal or basic wood wedding chairs you find for rent around town and not too fancy like chivari.
Another fabulous find which made this party super inexpensive was the tablecloth. If you dig through the discount fabrics at your local craft store, you can find some amazing deals like this one I found at Joann Fabrics for a whopping $12. All I did was pull apart the edges to give it that frayed, scarf-like edging and done! A no-sew, easy to do tablecloth. I also keep several of these wood folding tables in my outdoor dining closet for deck nights. You can find them here.
Nestled between the leaves are a mixture of coordinating paper flowers I found on sale at Joann Fabrics. I love the texture of paper flowers and they are easily manipulated into place which gave this runner a whimsical feel.
These are the prettiest pumpkin cookies I’ve ever seen! My friend Angie, of Pink Apron Confections, created these all-white sugar cookie masterpieces for the party.
Hosting dinner parties can be exhausting in the kitchen, I highly suggest a pot-luck style gathering for large crowds. Easier on the pocket and your kitchen. This year, I decided to switch up my green bean and sweet potato recipes. You can find those in an upcoming post here on the blog!
When I go antiquing, I’m always looking for pretty and unusual bowls to house my foodie creations. This antique dough bowl was calling my name as a bread basket!
You can shop my favorite tabletop items that are currently in stores for Thanksgiving in this post! Happy Fall Dining and Friendsgiving!
