We’re midsummer and I’m having the best time styling with all of my seasonal favorites. This lemon-themed party set to an all-pink dinner table was inspired by my love for lemon tarts and fresh-squeezed lemonade. I must eat a lemonade popsicle every day in the summertime. I can’t seem to get enough of that tart and refreshing flavor.
Al Fresco
We’re still trying to find ways to see our friends safely here in Florida during these Covid times. Small gatherings outdoors with vaccinated friends seem to be the safest and most thoughtful option! And I certainly don’t mind. I LOVE an intimate outdoor gathering with my favorite people above all else.
DIY Garland
One of my favorite DIY floral tricks is an easy and inexpensive garland. Foraging my yard for things that need trimming, I’m always drawn to this variegated pittosporum. Not only is it one of my favorite and easy-to-maintain shrubs, but it’s also a great filler for bouquets and garlands. A bag of fresh grapefruit, oranges, and lemons bring this garland to a $15 price tag. You can even make fresh juice after your gathering and let nothing go to waste.
Lemon Tart
This recipe is my absolute favorite tart summer dessert. It’s versatile too! Swap out the lemon ingredients for different flavors and make any tart your heart desires.
Tabletop Pieces
If you have an unusual-sized dinner table, I recommend making your own tablecloths with fabric by the yard. You can sew the edges or just tuck them in making it a really easy table covering hack. These chairs are a thick plastic that you can use indoor or out. And the adorable lemon print napkins are Kate Spade.
Refreshing Summer Appetizers
Everyone is always so hot upon arrival. I thought these cute lemon cup slushies would be a great way to greet friends. They blend up really fast with equal parts lemonade and frozen strawberries. Serve them in hollowed-out lemon halves and top with a mint leaf. The lemon cup serves a flavor purpose so don’t skip it! You can be lazy when hollowing them out for even more flavor. So tart, so yum!
