Homemade Fresh Pesto Recipe

Homemade Fresh Pesto is one of my favorite easy things to make! My basil grows out of control here in Florida, especially in the summertime. I love finding new ways to use and not waste it! I use a lot in my Caprese salads that I eat almost daily. And the rest, I make into pesto and use in my homemade pizzas, bread, and as a simple dip! For this recipe, don’t worry about destemming the basil or mincing the garlic cloves. Just add everything into the processor and let it do its job!

Ingredients: 

  • 2 Cups Basil Leaves
  • 1/2 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/3 Cup Pine Nuts
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2 Cup Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper To Taste

Directions: 

  1. Wash and pat dry the basil.
  2. Add basil, cheese, nuts, and garlic to a food processor and pulse until well chopped.
  3. Add the olive oil, salt, and pepper, and process until fairly smooth texture.
  4. Keep in the refrigerator or long term in the freezer.
